Delta Force: Hawk Ops is a first-person shooter by TiMi Studios - the developers of Call of Dury: Mobile - published by Level Infinite, a division of Tencent. The game is a free-to-play reboot of the Delta Force series, which was first created in 1998 by Novalogic.
Game modes
Delta Force: Hawk Ops features several different singleplayer and multiplayer modes.
Black Hawk Down - campaign
The cinematic singleplayer campaign lasts a few hours and is based on an iconic 2001 movie by Ridley Scott, like the one from Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. It's set in 2035, in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, featuring many street battles and nighttime operations. Fans of Delta Force will also get to meet many returning characters.
PvPvE operations
One of the primary multiplayer modes are Hazard Operations. These boil down to combat for valuable loot and resources between AI-controlled soldiers and the players.
Players are divided into several three-person squads, their members belonging to different classes and using different equipment. They must capture the mission objective, defeat their enemies and then escape from the scene. They can either reach the evacuation point or find another way out, which grants extra rewards.
PvP combat
Another available multiplayer mode is Havoc Warfare. These battles take place on land, sea and in the air, on large maps able to hold over 32 players. Teams switch between attacking and defending crucial checkpoints. Players can operate assault, armored and off-road vehicles, helicopters, boats and drones.
Character classes
Multiplayer in Delta Force: Hawk Ops features four character classes, those being assault trooper, sniper, engineer and medic. Each class also has some operators representing it, all of whom have their own unique backstories. These include:
- Roy "Bee Colony" Smee - a talented medic and an expert in creating tactical divisions;
- Luna Kim - a deadly sniper and an expert intelligence officer;
- Kai "Dire Wolf" Silva - a relentless soldier deadly at close range;
- Terry "Shepard" Musa - an engineer skilled at implementing unconventional strategies.
Technical aspects
The visuals of Delta Force: Hawk Ops are worthy of 2024, while the artstyle highly resembles the series' previous installments. This makes the game look very appealing on all platforms.
Using photogrammetry let the developers create credible 3D maps. They also hired special forces soldiers for consulting to make the events and characters realistic.
