Dredge: The Iron Rig

Dredge: The Iron Rig is the second expansion for the game Dredge, a warmly received exploration RPG with horror elements. Similar to the base version of this game, the DLC was developed by Black Salt Games studio, and its release was handled by Team17 company.

Plot

The story told in Dredge: The Iron Rig focuses on the titular oil platform. After establishing cooperation with the Ironport corporation, we need to take care of the expansion of this facility. As the work intensifies, a mysterious dark liquid begins to seep from the primal depths, so our second goal is to study its impact on local fish species.

Gameplay

Dredge: The Iron Rig offers a number of new missions that we can undertake at any time during the game. It is not necessary to complete the main adventure or the plot of the first expansion - Dredge: The Pale Reach.

As part of new quests, we visit locations known from the base version of the game. They have transformed into dangerous areas under the influence of the liquid emerging from the depths. As we progress, we expand the drilling platform that is our base of operations and build various facilities on it, thanks to which we gain access to new items and gadgets.

In addition to over 50 previously unavailable fish to catch and enter into the encyclopedia, the DLC brings the next level of fishing gear (which can be made with the help of 8 new equipment items), a larger hull and improvements to selected skills. We can also encounter characters that we have not had the chance to meet before, as well as threats that we have not yet faced.

Technical aspects

Dredge: The Iron Rig is a non-standalone DLC, so it requires the base game Dredge to run.
