How to unlock the fishing minigame in Stellar Blade? Our guide will explain to you how to obtain a fishing rod, how to fish properly, as well as the rewards associated with fishing and whether the fish you catch have any practical uses.

One of the optional activities in Stellar Blade is fishing. On this page of the guide, you will learn how to unlock a mini-game related to fishing by obtaining a fishing rod, what are the rules of the mini-game and its correct completion, what items the fishing shop offers and whether caught fish can be sold or passed on.

How to get a fishing rod?

1. Fishing is one of the bigger mini-games, but you can't play it initially. Eve by default does not have any fishing rod, nor knowledge about fishing spots.
2. Reach the Great Desert region in the main story. In the desert you can find an oasis with a supply camp. An exclamation mark will also appear in the same place - a side mission marker (see picture above).

1. In the location, there is Clyde, who is busy fishing. Talking to him will unlock the side quest Looking Glass from unlocking fishing.

1. You can pick up the fishing rod for free, it's next to Clyde. From this moment, you can select the fishing rod as an active item by holding down "down" on the D-pad - it is in the same category of items as, among others, grenades and mines.
2. You can take out the active fishing rod from the inventory by pressing the down direction once. You should be standing next to the fishing point in the Oasis, so Eve will be able to use it immediately.

How to properly catch a fish?

1. The first step is to cast the fishing rod - move the left analog stick - first down and then up.
2. Wait until a fish takes the bait. When that happens, quickly press R2.

1. You have to wear down the fish and lower its endurance (white energy bar).
2. Move the left knob in the opposite direction to the direction in which the fish is swimming (e.g. turn the knob to the left when the fish swims to the right.
3. In parallel with moving the knob, press Square repeatedly. This is how you deplete the fish's bar.

1. Every now and then a fish-catching bar will appear. Then that happens hold R2 for a short moment and try to keep the white arrow in the blue field (example in the picture). Only then will the top white stripes be filled.

1. Once the fish has been weakened as much as possible, you can press Triangle to catch it.
2. You must perform all the activities described above before the designated time expires - the counter is visible on the screen from the moment the mini-game starts.

1. Every time you will find out about the species and weight of the caught fish. It will be added to your collection in a separate inventory tab.
2. Fish from the game world are divided not only into species, but also into size categories (e.g. small, gigantic, jumbo). Catching bigger fish requires more effort and having the right bait.

Clyde's fishing hut

After the first successful catch, you can talk to Clyde and complete the side quest Looking Glass. The next meetings will enable you to:

1. Using the services of Clyde's shop - You pay with your fishing results , i.e. a special currency obtained for fishing. You can obtain information about fishing, baits (which are necessary for catching new species of fish), valuable consumable items (e.g. BK pump), Vitcoins or rare materials.

1. Talking to Clyde - You can ask him, among others: about other fishing points in the game world and you will receive tips on where to look for them.

What are fishes for?

1. One of the game's trophies is related to fishing, but they also have other uses.
2. In the city of Xion, you can visit Barry's stall and unlock the side quest Stubbornness by delivering him caught fish.
