Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is an action game using mechanics known from the roguelike genre. The game, based on a popular license, was originally released exclusively on the Apple Arcade streaming platform, then in 2024 a port was developed for the Nintendo Switch console. This version received a number of audiovisual improvements and new content (including additional enemies and NPCs). The game was developed by Super Evil Megacorp in collaboration with Paramount Game Studios.
Plot
The four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles go into battle when mysterious portals appears in New York and the Foot Clan kidnaps Master Splinter. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael decide to save their mentor, while their allies - April O'Neil and Metalhead - try to discover the causes of unusual phenomena. It turns out that the confrontation with Shredder will not be the only problem of the heroes.
Gameplay
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate we participate in dynamic battles with hordes of enemies, including the popular turtles' antagonists (Bebop, Rocksteady, Oroku Karai and others).
During the game we can take control of any of the main characters. Each of them has not only a different set of weapons, but also a unique skill set. The choice of character affects the fighting style - fans of area attacks can choose Michelangelo, and players who prefer critical damage can choose Raphael. Over time, we also gain access to new abilities and develop those already known to us.
Randomness is an important element of the game, thanks to which each playthrough brings a different experience. The regions we visit always have a different appearance and different room layout. Randomness also applies to the power-ups found by the protagonists or bonuses capable of modifying strong points of the bosses. Battles in the game force us to constantly adapt to the prevailing conditions in the arenas.
Game modes
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate was created to be played both alone and in cooperation. A maximum of four users can participate in co-op.
