In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you can acquire gear not only during missions, but also from special chests. You can get a new weapon, shield or pieces of armor for free. However, some of the chests with gear are hidden inside buildings, tunnels, underground, or are locked. On this page of the guide you will learn where to find chests with gear in Essexe region.
Galloglach Cape
You will obtain this cape in the southwestern part of the region.
In order to reach the chest you will need a key. It can be found on a bench next to the animal cages. First you will have to kill the enemies in the area.
Once you open the door, the path will be straight. The chest is just behind the entrance. Simply enter and grab your treasure.
Spartan Shield
You will find the shield in the southern part of the map, hidden in a cave under a bridge.
Reaching it shouldn't be hard. You must simply blow up the rocks that are blocking the passage. The area is easy to find as it is surrounded by ruined walls.
Once you walk inside, you must pass through the hole on the right side. It will lead you to the treasure. You can freely explore the caves - nothing will harm you here.
Galloglach Helm
The helm can be found in the northern part of the location, in an enemy base.
First, destroy the boards lying on the well. This will enable you to get inside.
At the bottom of the well you will find a key in a bucket. Take it out and go back to the surface.
To reach the helm, you must destroy another lock. Jump on the wall and you will see bars in the floor. Shoot your arrow through them and break the lock. Then, run into the room and collect your treasure.
Oaken Kite Shield
The shield can be found in the southern part of the map, in the Mealdun.
In order to reach the shield, you must destroy the rocks blocking passage in the building. Once you do it, you will reach a small room with the secret. Additionally, you will scare away the majority of the inhabitans.
Hidden Ones’ Hood
The chest can be found in the dungeons of Colcestre city.
To reach them, you must open a door. Break the lock with the bow. You will reach the lock by jumping over the sewers.
The area is safe, no dangers await you. You must simply run into the room and collect the piece of armor.
