You will encounter Arthur Mountbatten while completing the Heavenslayer main quest or while simply wandering around the capital. This eloquent and elegant ghoul can become your companion if you help him with one small favor. On this page, we inform where to look for him and how to convince him to join your team.
Where to find Arthur Mountbatten?
You'll first meet Arthur in North London, next to the gate to Hackney. You will visit this location while completing the Heavenslayer quest, but you can also go there on your own earlier.
Be careful, however, because the area around the gate is quite heavily guarded by bandits and Hooligan Atkins - relatively strong opponents that you must watch out for.
There is also a legendary opponent lurking on one of the rooftops - Legendary Atkins. He uses a rocket launcher that can easily kill you with a single shot. We recommend attacking him with an accurate ranged weapon while using the wall on the opposite side of the road as a cover. If you manage to defeat him, you will receive a special weapon - Junkie's Double-Barrel Shotgun.
After clearing the area, head towards the large iron gate leading to Hackney. When you approach it, you will hear a voice calling for help. Arthur is hanging by his legs to the left of the gate.
How to help Arthur?
Talk to the ghoul. However, the man won't be willing to chat until you release him. You can do this by selecting the "[Free Mountbatten]" dialog option. Arthur will fall, but will recover after a while and you will be able to continue the conversation.
The ghoul will briefly tell you about himself and how he got into this difficult situation. At some point, he will suggest you join forces and travel together. You can ask Arthur about his competences, agree or reject the proposal. If you are already traveling with another companion, you will need to send them away before having the ghoul join you.
If you reject the ghoul's offer, you will be able to return to the Hackney gate at any time and get him as a companion.
